Wichita, Kansas
Work today: searched Google for 5 hours, continuing to correct the hotel information on various websites. Wolfie told my dad, and me but not in these exact words, that I finished the work given to me the first day in about a day and a half. The people in the office planned to have it take me a week and they are running/ran out of actual things for me to do. Searching Google and doing that task the past few days is busy work. Well, it’s more like work you save for a really rainy day, like when the power’s out and you’re tired of playing Candyland. Like organizing a sock drawer, or deleting old files on your hard drive. Something that should be done, but at the moment isn’t exactly in the top 100 of your to-do list.
After work, I went to the store to find something. Don’t really know what I was looking for, but I know I wanted a coffee. At the dm, I ran into these 2 guys from Kansas in the sunscreen aisle (mine expired and is no longer effective). They were just as clueless as me as to what to buy, but my “extensive” knowledge of German and bit of French helped them more than me. From dm, which didn’t have a food selection (I love going into the store and picking out random items to try), I went to Spar and picked up a coffee drink, a Kinder Joy in honor of Brian from Texas, and some animal crackers. Major healthy right? OMG Kinder Joys are amazing. Mine came with a Kung Fu Panda puzzle. I’m going to tape it together and save it for ever and everrrrr *dream like voice*.
So I’m at the bus stop outside the spar (mini grocery store) waiting for the bus (obviously) when this guy on a scooter says something in German that’s muffled by his helmet. He mistook me for some girl named Heidi (only in Austria/Germany). My back was turned because I was opening the macchiato I just bought. Then he starts to hit on me, ask where I’m from (I’m dumb enough to say Miami. I should’ve said something like Wichita, Kansas) and tries to talk to me in English but failing. And I don’t understand him anyway because of the helmet. He leaves when the bus comes and I’m like omg thank god I’m rid of this guy. But no - he’s at the end of the line, where I’m going. So I’m like crap. I see him when I get off the bus, and I ignore him and start walking back to the house, constantly checking if he’s following me. I’m at the neighbor’s yard when I hear a scooter tear down the street and I dash behind her van (she’s a florist so she has BIIG vans) and hide by the wheel so the creep can’t see my feet. When he’s gone, I make a mad dash to the house only to hear/see him turn around and head back in my direction so I hide again behind the potted plants and he never saw me. Whew.
Later tonight, I had my first hip hop class. It was fun and I enjoyed it, but there’s a reason I wasn’t on the Palmetto dance teams. I think I’m a bit more graceful in the air :D
Oh, so before Spar and after dm, I went back to Linzer Gasse to see if I could find a souvenir or something for Hannah. I didn’t find anything but I did find a purple elephant that I bought and a pink tea mug. I’m gonna start a collection of tea mugs from random places or ones with funny sayings. It’s pretty big, but not quite like the bowls Lorelai and Rory drink their coffee from on Gilmore Girls. :]
