GOOOOOOOL

Yesterday was AMAZING! The remaining three in the apartment arrived early in the morning and we did so much! When Jordan, Alex, and Griffin had unpacked a bit, Jordan and Alex joined Matt, David, and I on a walk around. We tried to go to Museo Reina Sofia but the line to enter was really long and we were about 4 hours early for the free admission time, so we turned back. We grabbed lunch in the area and then Matt, Jordan, and Alex went back to the apartment to rest and unpack. David and I went to a botanical garden in the area.

That evening was the last RealMadrid game of the season and David had a ticket. We all headed over to the stadium to see if someone was selling tickets for a reasonable price. David went to his seat and the 5 of us found seats all together and for only 30 euro! We were in the nosebleed section but in the shade and had a view of the whole stadium! It was incredible! We won 4-2 against Osasuna. Yes, I paid attention to the entire game. Yes, I stayed for the entire game. No, I did not understand what was going on, or how long the game is. But I had so much fun!

Yesterday night, was entertaining. We spent the night the 6 of us just having fun and playing games and before we knew it, it was 5:30 AM and didn’t even feel that late.

Today after waking up really late, David and I took the 45 minute metro ride to find Universidad de Nebrija. It’s in a much more neighborhood area and has a beautiful park right next to it. After familiarizing ourselves with the area, we went to the supermarket to pick up some things for lunch and noshes. Our apartment doesn’t have silverware, dishware, many cooking utensils, or an oven and it’s a bit frustrating. We emailed Lucy in the Study Abroad office and are taking care of it.

We met up with 3 other girls from our program and went to go explore Museo del Prado. We got the free admission tickets, but went to take a group photo and missed the entrance by 4 minutes. The security guard was being smug and didn’t let us in anyway. Parque del Retiro is near the museum, so Matt and I led the way to show the park to the others. We sat a little cafe in the park and hung out for bit. I left them at about 7:45 to go meet Carley and Saad in Plaza Mayor for dinner. It was so wonderful seeing them. I don’t think the 3 of us had been together since high school. We ate dinner near *the* palace (didn’t know I lived that close to it either haha) and dropped Saad off to meet his friends at a nearby market. Carley came back to the apartment with me after showing me where the famous churros and chocolateria is. She got to meet all the roommates. David, Matt, and Jordan walked us to the metro station.

Tomorrow starts the first day of classes. Let the studying abroad begin!
