Donkeys Making Noise Sound Like A Deathly Asthma Attack

Sorry this didn’t post yesterday. Tumblr has been silly lately. Anywho, quick shout out to Hannah S, Jess I and Chris S for being so amazing. Love you guys, and Hannah: ENJOY CAMP! <3

Today was FREEZING. The lowest I saw the thermostat read was 8.5 degrees Celsius, which is about 48 degrees Fahrenheit. I could not have packed more wrong for this. My shorts are sitting sadly in the wardrobe and they yearn to see the sunlight (I’ve spoiled them in Miami). It was rainy and cold and just unhappy outside. Almost like Dementors had entered Salzburg. HARRY POTTER IN 28 DAYS! :]

We had lunch at the Sheraton which is right next to the Schloss Fuschl where I’ll be working. I had some REAL weinerschnitzel and my stomach was very, very happy. After lunch, Kathrin gave me a brief tour of the Schloss while the girls stayed in Wolfie’s office. Calling the Schloss beautiful and magnificent are understatements. I don’t know if I can take pictures, but I’ll try to find some at one point.

We then drove to the country side to visit this farm. I was like, “Oh, farm. Yay. O.o” But then Kathrin explained it as more of a petting zoo type thing, except some animals wander freely. The owner of the farm rescues animals from the circus and various places that have treated the animals poorly or are about to be slaughtered. I can’t tell you how many times I thought Lola was behind me but no, there was a donkey. When the donkeys talked to each other, it scared the crap out of me! I thought there was a person dying of an asthma attack and turned around to see a donkey a few feet away happily conversing with another at the other end of the barn. Oy! There are all kinds of animals at the farm. Pigs, chickens, donkeys, goats and kids (baby goats, not human children :P), BIGGER pigs, cows, bulls, rabbits, and more. I really like the idea behind the farm.

By this time, it was near 48 degrees, the rain was beginning to let up, and I was freezing. I could see my breath in the air. We headed home and I was HAPPY! Kathrin put the seat warmers on in the car and I got HAPPIER! Haha.

Once at home, I quickly typed out an email to Mom asking for warmer clothes. There is no way I will survive without them. Watch it be that once I receive the clothes, the weather warms up. I played Legos with Isabella. It really frustrated me how the legos are blocks but the boards you have to put the legos on have rounded edges. If the lego makers are worried about kids (the human ones this time) getting injured in the corners, WHY NOT MAKE LEGOS ROUND!? I kept going back and forth between Isabella and my computer to make sure Mom got my email. She did :]. Isabella followed me into my room with her version of a Fisher-Price computer and we “worked” next to each other. The tickle fight then began. She tried to over power me and after seeing her struggle a bit I moved. She’s so adorable.

Dinner was chill, and pretty much everyone was on a computer doing something. I was practicing my German vocabulary on freerice.com. It’s this amazing website that donates 10 grains of rice to the world food programme to help end world hunger. They have all kinds of subjects and I recommend you check it out!

Wolfie decided to call Miami and we were lucky enough to reach the ENTIRE family and wish all the daddy’s a happy father’s day. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE! You rock! I’ve been away for the past 9 years and haven’t been able to actually wish my dad a happy father’s day so the call was a present for me too. I sent him a cheesy e-card. Yay cheesy e-cards (and not yay cheesy feet…RHONAAAAA :P)

Hope you all enjoyed celebrating Father’s day! I’ll post the pictures I have from today later.
