Jordan & Alex: Palacio Real Tour Guides
Yesterday, we went on a tour of the Spanish royal palace, Palacio Real. It’s the largest functioning palace in Europe. There are 3,418 rooms, 870 windows, 240 balconies, and 44 stair cases. SO MUCH SPACE. It was difficult to hear our guide so I trailed back and hung with Jordan and Alex. Their version of the palace’s history was much more entertaining. Here’s our trip to the palace in a nutshell, and other funny quotes from the roommates:
Jordan: (points to a shield at the palace entrance) This was the first Gryffindor house. You can tell by the lions and colors on the shield.
Sean: This room is paisley-tastic!
Jordan: Brad Paisley recorded his first album here.
Alex: This is the dinning room. There used to be a buffet here everyday from 11 am - 2 pm, similar to Beta.
Alex: (entering the Royal Chapel) This is where King Ferdinand had his Bar Mitzvah. The echo kind of messed up his haftorah portion…

Alex: When I make something…it tastes good.
Matt: Don’t mess with a bride on her wedding day. It’s her day!
Jordan: There are certain things you don’t tell people.
Alex: For everything else, there’s MasterCard
Griffin: The only thing that got me out of bed this morning was knowing Matt’s [Pokemon] Spearow died.

Pictures weren’t allowed in the palace, so I only have pictures of the exterior. If we were royalty, this could easily be our holiday card. It’s one of the few, or maybe the only picture, of our entire apartment. #didireallyspendtimeonthis #nolife
I’ve now checked 13 things off my Madrid checklist. Tomorrow is our last day of classes, yay for finals! >.< Then it’s to the south of Spain until mid-Monday. It’s me, Kelsey, Brianna, and Katie. We’re also meeting up with a bunch of others. Too many to name, but this weekend is sure to be a lot of fun!
